IBM's CarePlex was an innovative healthcare platform utilizing Watson’s artificial intelligence to enhance the medical care process for clinicians, patients, and caregivers. The project, a collaboration between IBM and Boston Children’s Hospital, aimed to integrate cognitive computing into healthcare to provide dynamic medical records and personalized care recommendations.

Ask CarePlex — suggested tests with the secure-messages indicator restored. The answer arrives as counted facets rather than a list of documents — tests, treatments, experts, trials and risks each quantified — which is the interface expression of the case study's "reducing distance to insight" claim. From the Ask CarePlex sequence — the archive's central interaction, in which a physician types a clinical hypothesis in plain language and the platform answers against the patient record.
